The project will receive the designation “EDGE Advanced” if you achieve an expected energy savings of at least 40%, together with an expected savings of at least 20% in water and energy incorporated in materials.
There is no additional cost associated with obtaining recognition as EDGE Advanced for a project.
Projects that obtain EDGE Advanced certification and meet all their real operational energy needs with renewable energy sources, either on site or off site, or that purchase carbon offsets to achieve a 100% carbon-free energy supply, have the option of seeking EDGE Zero Carbon certification.
SENATI's new Campus Independence Technology Center in Peru has obtained EDGE Advanced certification, being the first to do so in the country. This certification has resulted in significant savings, including 47% in energy consumption, 40% in water use and a 45.6% decrease in energy incorporated into building materials. In addition, during its operation, this building will stop emitting approximately 61 tons of carbon dioxide (CO₂) per year.
Our consultant, Leaf Latam, was part of the certification process for this project together with Binswanger Peru, responsible for Project Management and Construction Supervision. They announced on their website the ecological characteristics of the new Senati headquarters:
