Types of Scaffolding and the process of use in a construction site

It is important to remember that scaffolds are structural elements designed to provide height support to materials, workers or tools on construction sites or constructions. In this regard, the diversity of scaffold types is significant.

Functional Classification of Scaffolding

  1. Work scaffold: Used on construction sites to support tools and the workers themselves.
  2. Safety scaffold: Used to protect specific areas on a construction site.
  3. Service scaffold: Designed to facilitate the movement of materials and workers using walkways and ladders.
  4. Scaffold for public use: Removable structures used for short periods of time for pedestrians and the general public.

  6. Covered enclosures: Removable structures that act as roofs for materials and people.
  7. Other structures: Those that are not included in the above categories, such as towers for sets and concerts or advertising screens.
