Project Description

Velnes Mendiburu is a residential building located in the Miraflores district of Lima, with over 4,112 m² built. Developed by Schmidt y Chávez-Tafur Ingenieros (SCHT) between January 2019 and April 2020, the project is organized into three basement levels, one semi-basement, and seven floors of apartments, topped by a shared rooftop.

The building incorporates mechanical extraction and ventilation systems, water pumping and drainage, a fire protection network (ACI), closed-circuit video surveillance (CCTV), elevators, and solar panels, integrating operational efficiency and comfort for residents from the design stage onward.

Velnes Mendiburu holds EDGE certification, validating minimum energy, water, and materials savings compared to an equivalent conventional building.

What makes this project innovative?

The innovation of Velnes Mendiburu lies in incorporating renewable energy generation and resource-management systems into a mid-scale residential building, in one of Lima's densest areas.

The project stands out for:
