Project Description

Verah is a residential development located in Santiago de Surco, Lima, with more than 10,872 m² built. The project is part of a family of buildings — Verah, Verah 2, Verah 3, and Verah Condominio — developed by Grupo Caral under the same efficiency standard, offering 1, 2, and 3-bedroom apartments ranging from 63 to 123 m², designed for different family profiles within the same condominium.

Verah holds EDGE certification (Excellence in Design for Greater Efficiencies) and has also obtained the Mivivienda Verde seal, which together validate the project's environmental performance in the energy, water, and construction materials categories.

What makes this project innovative?

Verah's approach lies in bringing certified sustainability to a mid-scale residential format in a well-established district of Lima, showing that resource efficiency can be built into the design of developments that grow in phases.

The project stands out for:

• Incorporating efficient equipment and lighting in apartments and common areas.
• Reducing water consumption through low-flow fixtures and systems.
• Selecting construction materials with a lower environmental impact across their life cycle.

Project impact

Like every EDGE project, Verah was designed to meet the minimum threshold of 20% savings in energy, water, and embodied energy in materials compared to an equivalent conventional building, helping reduce the environmental footprint of multifamily housing in Surco.
