Summary

Location: Mexico

Certification achieved: EDGE Standard

Certification status: Final Certificate

Project description

Ventara F1 is a project located in Mexico that achieved EDGE Standard certification with a Final Certificate, validating that the efficiency strategies applied meet and exceed the savings required by the standard.

EDGE Standard is the base level of the EDGE system (Excellence in Design for Greater Efficiencies), created by IFC, a member of the World Bank Group. It requires minimum savings of 20% in energy, water, and embodied carbon in materials compared with an equivalent conventional building in the same location. The Final Certificate is issued once construction is complete, after an on-site audit verifies that the efficiency measures planned at the design stage were actually implemented.

What makes this project innovative?

Ventara F1 exceeds the EDGE minimums in all three categories assessed, with particularly strong performance in energy, where it achieves 27.43% savings, and in materials, with a 32% reduction in embodied carbon.

The project stands out for:

  • Exceeding the 20% threshold required by EDGE in energy, water, and materials.
  • Reducing operational energy consumption through efficient design strategies.
  • Holding a Final Certificate, confirming that the measures were implemented on site.

Project impact

Overall performance according to EDGE

  • Energy savings: 27.43%
  • Water savings: 22.33%
  • Reduction in embodied carbon in materials: 32.00%
