Latin America's first EDGE-certified airport

At the end of 2025, the New Jorge Chávez International Airport, operated by Lima Airport Partners (LAP), became the first airport in Latin America and the third in the world to earn EDGE certification, reflecting annual savings of more than 20% in energy, water, and construction materials.

In this webinar, César Granda shared what happened behind the scenes: how the EDGE standard was applied to an infrastructure project of this scale, the main challenges of certifying an airport, and the key decisions that made this achievement possible.

In this session, we covered:

  • What EDGE certification is and why it matters for airport infrastructure.
  • The certification process for the New Jorge Chávez Airport, from start to finish.
  • The results achieved: more than 20% savings in energy, water, and materials.
  • Key takeaways for other sustainable infrastructure projects in the region.

This case confirms that sustainability can also transform large-scale projects, paving the way for the next generation of infrastructure in Latin America.
