A decade driving sustainable construction

In September 2025, IFC (International Finance Corporation) celebrated 10 years of the EDGE standard with a summit in Cape Town, South Africa, bringing together developers, investors, governments, and the global network of EDGE Champions to reflect on the program's evolution and its impact on transforming the real estate sector toward sustainability.

César Granda represented Leaf at this global gathering, sharing how EDGE certification has evolved in Peru from its earliest projects to becoming a standard increasingly adopted by developers across the region, and bringing the trends and insights discussed in South Africa back to the local market.

This gathering covered:

• Ten years of EDGE as an investment and certification tool backed by the World Bank.
• The program's expansion across Africa, Latin America, and Asia.
• Success stories and lessons learned from EDGE Champions around the world.
• Peru's role within this global sustainable construction network.
